Due to a hamstring injury, Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana may be out for the remainder of the season.
During the Blues’ 3-0 victory on December 1, the 24-year-old France center-back injured himself while stepping on the ball while tackling Aston Villa scorer Ollie Watkins.
Up to that point, he had started 12 of Chelsea’s 13 Premier League games, missing just one due to suspension.
Enzo Maresca, the boss at the time, said he would be “at least three, four, five weeks” out.
Although surgery is not yet necessary, the Italian now claims that his center-back will be out for a “very long time” in a “big blow.”
Maresca stated, “Unfortunately, he could be out for the season.” “We don’t know exactly.”
